Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Real Estate Appraiser to join our team. The ideal candidate will conduct property evaluations, analyze market data, and prepare comprehensive appraisal reports to support real estate transactions, financing, and development projects. This role requires a strong understanding of financial concepts, construction processes, and regulatory standards such as Fair Housing regulations. The position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects involving residential, commercial, and government-assisted properties, including LIHTC developments. The successful applicant will play a vital role in ensuring accurate property valuation and compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities

Conduct thorough data collection through site visits, market research, and analysis of comparable properties
Perform quantitative research and financial analysis to determine property values based on current market trends and property-specific factors
Utilize GIS tools and financial software to assist in mapping, data management, and valuation modeling
Prepare detailed financial reports that clearly communicate appraisal findings and support decision-making processes
Ensure all appraisals adhere to relevant regulations including Fair Housing regulations and industry standards
Collaborate with clients, lenders, and other stakeholders to provide expert opinions on property values
Stay current with changes in tax laws, LIHTC, and other relevant policies affecting real estate valuation
Maintain accurate records of all appraisal activities in compliance with professional standards

Qualifications

Proven experience or strong knowledge in real estate appraisal, financial analysis, and construction fundamentals
Proficiency in accounting, financial software, and understanding of financial concepts related to real estate valuation
Familiarity with Tax experience, LIHTC, and regulatory requirements such as Fair Housing regulations
Strong skills in math, data collection, and quantitative research methods
Excellent written communication skills for preparing clear and comprehensive financial reports
Ability to interpret architectural plans, blueprints, and site layouts using tools like GIS software
Prior experience or coursework in construction, tax laws, or related fields is a plus
Valid license or certification as a licensed or certified appraiser is preferred but not mandatory for internship roles

Pay: $47,884.12 - $57,666.89 per year
