Position Overview:
Edge Industrial Staffing is seeking a Design Engineer to support a manufacturing facility specializing in HVAC air-distribution products, including sheet metal components, air diffusers, grilles, dampers, and custom airflow systems. The Design Engineer will develop and improve product designs, create detailed drawings, and work closely with manufacturing, quality, and production teams to ensure products meet performance, safety, and efficiency standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and update HVAC-related components including grilles, diffusers, ductwork accessories, and airflow control devices.
- Create detailed 2D and 3D drawings using CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
- Develop BOMs, technical documentation, and manufacturing instructions.
- Collaborate with production teams to ensure designs can be manufactured efficiently using sheet metal, stamping, forming, and assembly processes.
- Apply engineering knowledge of airflow, pressure, materials, and structural requirements.
- Review customer specifications and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Participate in prototype development, testing, and validation.
- Support continuous improvement efforts to enhance quality, reduce lead times, and improve manufacturability.
- Troubleshoot design issues and assist with engineering change requests (ECRs/ECNs).
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
- 2+ years of design or drafting experience in HVAC, sheet metal manufacturing, or related industrial environments (preferred).
- Strong understanding of sheet metal design, airflow systems, and fabrication processes.
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

Pay: $66,908.38 - $80,577.83 per year
