Industrial Engineer – Aerospace Manufacturing (Onsite, Pueblo, CO)
Contract: 6 months (1/1/26 – 6/30/26, possible extension)
Hourly Rate: $50–$80/hr + overtime (based on experience)
About the Opportunity
E8 Engineering is partnering with a prestigious military and commercial aerospace company to hire two Industrial Engineers to help design, document, and optimize manufacturing systems for rocket subassemblies and systems. This is your chance to work on high-profile aerospace projects, improve production processes, and mentor a talented engineering team.
We are hiring:
- 1 Senior Industrial Engineer with 15+ years of experience
- 1 Mid-level Industrial Engineer with 5–7 years of experience
What You’ll Do
- Collaborate with Product Design and Build teams on modifications and upgrades.
- Review and improve Manufacturing Engineering Planning documents to accelerate assembly and improve delivery.
- Analyze current Build and Flow Plans, Quality Records, Non-Conformance Requests, and facility layouts to identify improvements in quality, cost, and delivery metrics.
- Mentor and guide operations teams and Industrial Engineers, sharing best practices and fostering process improvement.
- Transition manufacturing from reactive problem-solving to predictive, preventative, and controlled outcomes.
- Rapidly respond to issues on the production floor to improve workflow efficiency.
- Provide weekly status updates on deliverables, project progress, and budget burn-down.
Key Deliverables
- Reports on manufacturing and assembly issues, corrections, and recommendations.
- Support modification efforts and propose/execute future-state process improvements.
- Attend daily stand-up meetings and contribute to team initiatives.
- Develop, validate, and adjust standards for selected areas (Machining Center, LOX Skirt Assembly).
- Mentor current Industrial Engineering team members and provide implementation recommendations.
- Conduct top-level assessments of “Balanced Line” operations and optimize process flows.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in aircraft/space structures fabrication and assembly.
- Strong background in process improvement, Lean Manufacturing, or related methodologies.
- Ability to analyze complex systems and propose actionable solutions.
- Excellent communication and mentoring skills to guide teams and improve operational performance.
- Hands-on approach with a passion for driving results in high-stakes aerospace manufacturing environments.
