Data Management Specialist (Temporary)
Reports to: Head of School
Contract Term: 3-month, full-time to cover leave for current Data Management Specialist
Job Description
The Data Management Specialist is responsible for managing all aspects of student, staff, program, and assessment data in support of the academic operations of the school. Securely manages all student records and the SchoolBrains Student Information System (SIS). Ensures timely compliance with DESE and federal regulations and reporting. Additionally, the Data Management Specialist supports the implementation of standardized testing and course scheduling.
Additional Responsibilities
● Implements requirements of FERPA and its application in a charter public school setting
● Manages the secure storage of student records, electronically and with paper files
● Manages the entry and exit checklist for students transferring in or out of the school
● Manages and supports the Student Information System (SIS)
- Provides training, support, and assistance to staff, students, and families across all modules and portals of the SIS
- Creates custom reports, report cards and progress reports, and transcripts
- Manages the Community Portal
- Collaborates with other staff members to integrate, as necessary, new information applications or platforms with the Student Information System
- ● Coordinates reports of data for federal compliance, including the Civil Rights Data
Collection
● Coordinates reports of data for Massachusetts Department of Elementary and
Secondary Education compliance from the Superintendent’s Checklist, including, but not limited to SIMS, EPIMS, SSDR, CSC, the Annual Report, and other charter school reports
● Collects, compiles, and works with Program Leaders on developing data sets (e.g. test results, enrollment information, course grades, historical data, and assessment data) for internal and external audiences
● Monitor and report on data from DESE-provided tools through Edwin Analytics, including MCAS EWIS
● Prepares customized reports to communicate data trends based upon requests and specifications in support of student measurement and progress monitoring
● Inputs student schedules with guidance from program leaders
● Processes all course registration forms
● Collaborates with program leaders in the planning, coordination, and implementation of standardized assessments, including MCAS, CWRA+, APPL, National Latin Exam, and
Star Diagnostics
● Collects, processes, and maintains enrollment applications and enrollment waiting lists
● Prepares materials, including cards of prospective students, for the Enrollment Lottery and disseminates results of the lottery to prospective families.

Pay: $275.00 - $350.00 per day
