ADA Remediation Specialist (.NET / Bootstrap / UI Accessibility)

Overview
We are seeking an ADA Remediation Specialist to support accessibility improvements for a high-visibility state application used by citizens and businesses to search and manage liquor licenses/permits. This role focuses on updating and remediating the application’s user interface to meet ADA and WCAG accessibility standards, ensuring full compliance, mobile responsiveness, and an improved user experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform ADA and WCAG accessibility remediation across the abc.tn.gov application, focusing on UI updates, navigation, readability, and assistive technology compatibility.
- Work hands-on with the application’s front-end (Bootstrap) to modernize components, enhance usability, and ensure full mobile responsiveness.
- Develop and maintain required functionality on the .NET backend, ensuring seamless integration between UI enhancements and core application logic.
- Conduct accessibility audits, identify compliance gaps, and implement remediation solutions that align with state and federal accessibility guidelines.
- Collaborate with internal teams to plan and execute UI improvements, ensuring the site remains simple, intuitive, and fully accessible for both citizens and businesses.
- Support additional development and maintenance tasks on the application as needed through April 2026.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong experience with .NET development (C#, ASP.NET).
- Proficiency with Bootstrap and responsive UI development.
- Proven background in ADA accessibility remediation, WCAG compliance, and usability best practices.
- Experience modernizing front-end applications and ensuring mobile-friendly design.
- Ability to translate accessibility requirements into practical, implementable solutions.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working on government or public-facing websites.
- Familiarity with automated accessibility testing tools (e.g., AXE, WAVE, Lighthouse).
- Knowledge of Section 508 and related accessibility standards.
Pay: $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
