Duties
- Installs gardens for designated clients and gardens
- Ability to integrate and learn technology for planning, documenting, and reporting.
- Maintains JGDesign company standards
- Collaborates on job planning
Field Management & Oversight
- Collaborates with the Design team
- Collaborates with the Project Manager for quality outcomes
- Proven experience with traditional gardening practices
- Open to training and implementing an ecological gardening approach
- Comfortable operating and becoming a trainer for machinery such as a skid steer, trimmers
- Responsible for the safety, training and well-being of the team. Upholds safety procedures consistently
- Oversees garden installations from start to finish
- Works outside in variable weather doing physically demanding work.
- Prioritizing tasks for crew members and improving job-site workflow
- Assist in planning all activities for installation and planting projects to ensure that projects are completed in a timely fashion to the company standards
- Performing horticultural tasks in gardens as needed such as ornamental hand pruning
- Overseeing landscape maintenance tasks such as cleanups
- Managing the day-to-day operations of crew including material moving and handling
- Keep timely and accurate client records and time sheets
Skills
- High level of horticultural experience including but not limited to planting, transplanting, spring and fall cleanups, edging, invasive plant management, pruning
- Horticultural knowledge and willingness to learn about plant sizes, nomenclature and sourcing
- Ability to organize
- Detail oriented
- Comfortable with plant identification and plant care
- Gardening experience
- Driving trucks and trailers
- Experience with landscape equipment, use and care
- DOT card required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $32.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
