Summary: Provide intake, assessment, case management and financial coaching services for individual clients and their families in the South Los Angeles region. This position requires an in person work daily.
Essential Duties:
- Provide intake and financial well-being assessment and comprehensive case management that need support in financial coaching.
- Ensures clients receive services which include emergency food, emergency funds for housing related expenses, housing related legal assistance, and technology support for students.
- Develop individualized plans to address client’s/families’ needs, including need for legal services, housing, financial coaching, employment educational, health, mental services, immigration and others services.
- Collaborate with Intake/Data entry staff to ensure all documentation is complete and entered into the database.
- Participate in community outreach activities and Special Events year-round, including food and fund distributions.
- Participate in events and projects assigned by CIFD/LA City.
- Connect and link client/family to FSC programs and activities, other El Nido services, and community resources to assist with meeting goals of improving Family Income and Academic Achievement
- Meet and maintain caseload productivity requirements to meet program contract objectives.
- Oversee and cultivate relationships with specific internal and external partnerships and programming activities assigned by Supervisor.
- Maintain frequent contact with clients through appointments at the FSC and telephone conversations to follow through with programs, services and provide ongoing support.
- Complete required program documents and reports with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Works with identified collaborative internal and external partners.
- Engage and participate in regular staff meetings and trainings.
- Initiate crisis intervention when crisis related incidents occur with clients or families at FSC.
- Assist Supervisor with special projects and events.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field or be certified as a financial coach or a high school diploma with a minimum of two years demonstrated experience providing financial capability programs.
- Must be able to work with diverse populations.
- 1-2 years in relevant case management, youth or social service experience preferred.
- Proficient knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheets (MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Ability to work some evenings and Saturdays (a minimum of 1 time per month).
- Possession of a car, valid driver's license, satisfactory driving record and proof of insurance.
