A leading-edge company seeks a creative, high-energy embedded systems engineer to lead the hardware and firmware development for a commercial utility meter. The candidate would be responsible for all aspects of the design process from initial concept to production. This would include but not be limited to reviewing the marketing requirements, designing the circuit, validation testing, creating a production test strategy, and creating the necessary documentation. The candidate would also be responsible for developing the firmware writing the code, and performing validation testing. Once the product is in production, the candidate will be responsibile for making continuous improvements as well as implementing market driven modifications to the product.
The ideal candidate would have experience in the following areas:
- Embedded PCB design and layout
- Basic analog circuit design using discrete transisters and diodes
- low-power hardware design using a primary Lithium Battery that must last upe to ten years
- Microchip microcontrollers, inclluding MPLAB X IDE and associated tools (C compiler and in-circuit debugger)
- A proficiency in embedded C programming
- Wireless design using LoraWAN
- Using microcontroller peripherals, including UART, SPI, A/D converter, and timer;
QUALITICATIONS:
- BS Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering or similiar engineering field
- Ability to creat, support, and maintain all necessary design and development documentation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a team envronment with other electrical and mechanical engineers
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
This candidate will be an integral part of a development team and must possess the appropriate skill set to not only work in such an environment but to also contribute ideas on providing solutions to enhance the customer experience.
