The organization delivers a full continuum of care—including prevention programs, outpatient counseling, residential support, and specialized behavioral health services. They’re seeking an experienced Controller to lead the organization’s accounting and finance operations. This is a true hands-on controllership role with oversight of processes, people, systems, and reporting. You’ll manage a small team, support senior leadership, and play a key part in modernizing financial systems and workflows through a new ERP implementation.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead the full month-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and detailed financial review.
- Manage financial reporting, including cash flow analysis, budget vs. actuals, and executive dashboards.
- Coordinate external audit and review engagements; ensure audit readiness.
- Oversee the implementation and successful rollout of Sage Intacct or similar ERP system.
- Supervise a team of 4–5 accounting/finance staff, providing mentorship, performance feedback, and workflow optimization.
- Strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP and healthcare accounting standards.
- Partner with program, operations, and leadership teams to support financial strategy and organizational goals.
- Utilize advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, IF statements, datasets) and PowerPoint to create meaningful presentations for senior leadership.
- Identify process improvements, automation opportunities, and system enhancements across the finance function.
What They’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
- Proven experience in a controller-level role, ideally in healthcare, nonprofit, or multi-entity environments.
- Strong technical accounting background, including GAAP, audits, and full-cycle month-end close.
- Experience implementing or working with Sage Intacct (or other major ERP systems).
- Advanced Excel skills with the ability to build accurate, insightful reporting.
- Strong leadership ability with experience managing and developing accounting teams.
- Excellent communication skills and comfort presenting to senior leadership.
