Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative Design Engineer to join our team. This role is responsible for driving the design and technology development of our custom slipring, hydraulic, and cable reel product lines. The successful candidate will report directly to the Product Technology and Innovation Manager and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure product specifications meet market demands and customer requirements. This position requires a blend of mechanical expertise, innovative thinking, and practical application of engineering best practices to develop concepts that establish a competitive edge in the market.Key Responsibilities
- Technology & Design Leadership: Lead the technology development and assume design ownership for custom slipring, hydraulic, and cable reel product lines.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering, manufacturing, and sales teams to effectively communicate product specifications, standard requirements, design parameters, and change orders, ensuring seamless product realization aligned with customer requests.
- Innovation & Product Development: Develop novel concepts for new products that align with market requirements and establish a distinct competitive edge. Implement engineering best practices, review new industry standards, and proactively identify technical gaps.
- Technical Documentation & Validation: Review complete technical documentation packages to validate product performance against stringent customer requirements. Suggest modifications to existing designs or develop entirely new designs when necessary to meet specific needs.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related Engineering discipline is required.
- Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of demonstrated success in design engineering or new product development experience is preferred.
- Technical Proficiency: Technology savvy with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, SolidWorks or a similar 3D CAD software, and experience with a manufacturing ERP system.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience: Prior electrical/electronics engineering experience is preferred.
