Content Marketing Manager
JOB DESCRIPTION
Reports To: Director of Sales and Marketing
Summary: The Content Marketing Specialist is tasked with assisting the Director of Sales and Marketing, known as the DoS moving forward, in managing the Metropolis marketing and supporting content development. Taking strategic direction from the DoS, the Content Marketing Manager will develop and maintain editorial and content calendars, partner with internal and external agencies to build and curate content in diverse formats including: videos, blog posts, infographics, GIFs etc. to be distributed across various channels, and communicate content plans throughout Metropolis Coffee Company.
Duties Include:
- Developing a solid understanding of product portfolio, target audience, buyer’s journey, key pain points and sales process
- Co-managing the Metropolis Wholesale website
- Creating, filming, and editing video content per the content calendar
- Leading the content creation process by developing creative briefs, partnering with various Metropolis team members throughout the process, and helping to edit all content to fit marketing standards
- Building and managing content calendar to align with SEO, content, and campaign strategy
- Maintaining a database of Metropolis owned content
- Analyzing performance data looking for trends and anomalies, highlighting opportunities to improve, and reporting to the DoS for actionable moves
- Managing technical aspects of the blog and specific social media channels (YouTube and LinkedIn) including posting and retiring content, testing CTAs, optimizing for SEO
- Other duties as required
Experience and Skills
This role requires an individual with strong communication and organizational skills paired with video production skills. Also, the Content Marketing Manager will need to leverage data insights, with the help of the DoS, to understand what content works best for Metropolis customers at each stage of the buying process. This is a new department for Metropolis, so someone who has a start-up mentality and who works in times of ambiguity and change will thrive in this role. In addition to this, the ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, or design (not required, but heavily preferred)
- Content development experience and familiarity with content marketing strategies
- Experience in a B2B marketing role
- Ability to work on multiple projects in parallel
- WordPress, Shopify, and other website editing experience a plus
- Experience analyzing reports to formulate recommendations and next steps
- Experience with Google Analytics, HubSpot, or CRM required
- Sound knowledge of content management systems, search engine optimization (SEO), and keyword research tools
- Copywriting or editing experience a plus
- Experience with design software like Adobe Creative Cloud, After Effects, or DaVinci Resolve, or similar software
- Managed complex projects with multiple stakeholders
- Built and maintained brand editorial calendars
- Outstanding time management and organizational skills
- Strong communication skills
Salary and Benefits: $80,000, PTO, health, vision, and dental insurance after 90 days, phone and computer.
