Hubbingtons has an unusual marketing concept that makes it relaxed and fun for the right person. We sell only American made furniture and price it everyday lower than any other retailer in New England. With a quality product and very aggressive pricing your job becomes more of listening, helping and finding the right furniture for your customer and less about pricing. With past motivated hires we have never needed to have a quota system (like most stores).
We have a location in Barrington and North Hampton, NH and have an opening that would be shared between the two.
We're looking for someone:
- With past retail sales or interior design experience
- Has the skill and confidence to help our customer coordinate fabrics and chose furniture that fits with their taste and home
- Who feels comfortable with Microsoft office.
- Has an interest in helping with stock purchases and store product layout to enhance the customer experience in our store
- Who wants to make a good living and do something they enjoy but has avoided retail because of the weird work hours....which we don't have.
- Who is naturally curious and will treat this position as if they were the owner of Hubbingtons. Looking beyond what is required and seeing potential way of improvement and doing them.
- Does not spend the day on their cell phone.
We offer something different than other retail stores:
- We just started a 4 day week experiment for the sales crew. We are hoping our customers will adjust and we can maintain good sales and have lots of 3 day weekends
- A schedule that does not change from week to week. No nights.
- Our past employees in this position have made $60-$70 per year (hourly & commission)
- Casual dress is preferred here.
- We want you involved in everything here at Hubbingtons. Opportunities to attend trade shows in High Point and the various Amish Communities.
- You can buy furniture for yourself at cost after a new hire waiting period.
- Part Sales and Part administration as you help with pricing, ordering, furniture layout and of course keeping the showroom tidy and organized.
- Lots to learn as all of our vendors have 100's of options availble for you to offer as you help our customers find just want they want for their home.
- Most of our builders are Amish which makes thing fun too.
- $22 an hour is just during training which based on how quickly you learnand lasts 6-10 weeks. After that you move to hourly and commission which can be discussed in the interview.
Our Review Process
We want to to find a person who fits our company culture and will enjoy being here for awhile. Our top sales person has been here 21+years. If personalities match you'll love it here.
- When you submit your resume you must send along a cover letter or follow up with an email reviewing your thoughts on why you are a good fit.
- If at that point we are thinking you might be the one we will ask you in for a brief chit chat. We both want to make a good decision.
- We will follow up with a longer interview if after review we are then hoping you are the person who will have fun helping us out. :)
