The Corporate Financial Analyst is a full-time, year-round role reporting to the Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis and working closely with the Sr. Director of Financial Planning & Analysis. The key mandate of this role is to provide fact-based, analytical decision support, reporting and insights at the enterprise level. This is a hybrid position based in Denver, CO, with an expectation of being in the office three days per week.
The salary range for this role is $70,000 to $80,000 per year. Pursuit offers a full suite of benefits, including discounts at our hotels, restaurants, and attractions, flexible time off, and a 401k contribution matching plan.
Through its Refresh Build Buy strategy, Pursuit continues on a journey of rapid growth, and this role is responsible for evaluating financial data, monitoring performance metrics, and providing insights and reporting that guide strategic decision-making across the company. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly. - Analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results, identifying trends, variances, and key drivers, and communicating findings effectively
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, analyzing variances against budget, forecast and historical trends and insights on forward-looking forecast updates
- Responsible for developing financial models, preparing insightful reports, and providing strategic recommendations to senior management to support key business decisions
- Work closely with various teams across the organization to gather financial and operational information and ensure accuracy and completeness of forecasts and budgets
- Support the annual budgeting process, collaborating with department heads to develop realistic financial targets
- Assist in the preparation of board materials and executive presentations
- In partnership with key stakeholders, maintain & update long-range forecast models
- Identify opportunities for process improvements within the finance function
- Monitor key financial metrics and KPIs, reporting on performance against goals
- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data and reporting
- Stay current with accounting standards and financial best practices
- Support internal and external financial controls & audit processes
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of reporting in financial systems
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience or certification related to finance, accounting, or data sciences with a minimum of 2 years’ experience
- Strong command of Microsoft Excel (complex formulas, pivot tables, financial modeling) and experience using Solver, or other analytical and reporting systems
- Advanced PowerPoint skills with experience creating clear, compelling, and executive-ready presentations, including materials for senior leadership and board-level audiences
- Experience working in a finance decision-support capacity
- Solid understanding of GAAP financial statements, the ability to build and maintain complex financial models, and proficiency in summarizing and interpreting large financial datasets
- A natural curiosity about the business and the internal/external factors that influence results; natural tendency to ask “why,” to challenge the status quo and to dig in to address unresolved questions
- A strong sense of urgency, and a bias toward action as opposed to waiting to be instructed on what to do
- Strong commitment to working as a team with an ability to foster strong working relationships, gain alignment on timelines and work streams, manage stakeholder requirements, and escalate risks before they become issues
- Experience in multi-location or multi-entity organizations is ideal
- Resourceful, adaptable, resilient, and having a strong sense of self-awareness, with proven ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility and willingness to work with a geographically diverse team in a broad range of time zones
- Ability to process information quickly and make decisions with fact-based logic and sound reasoning
