Location: This is a remote position, however candidates must reside within the St. Louis, MO metropolitan area to support occasional in-person meetings and business needs.

This is a hands-on advisory role where you help clients run their companies by the numbers, and you learn how to think and operate like a CFO every day.
What You Will Do
- Work directly alongside the CFO to build financial systems and strategy for multiple clients.
- Help clients create strong processes, and ensure financial data is reliable and actionable.
- Build annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and cash flow projections.
- Review financial statements, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow, and identify trends, variances, risks, and opportunities.
- Create dashboards and management reporting that give clients clarity and visibility into their numbers.
- Provide meaningful insights and recommendations so clients understand what the numbers really mean for decisions and strategy.
- Support ad hoc planning needs, such as scenario modeling, cash flow management, and helping set up or refine accounting processes.
What This Role Is Not
This is not a traditional controller or analyst role. This is a strategic advisory position for someone who wants to grow into a CFO role by helping business owners understand their numbers and make better decisions.
Who Thrives in This Role
- Accounting degree or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years of experience in public accounting, FP&A, audit, corporate finance, or similar.
- Strong understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Experience with month-end close processes
- Comfortable working directly with business owners and explaining financial concepts in simple, clear language.
- Enjoys problem solving, building structure, and helping companies grow.
- Ambitious and excited about a career path that leads toward a CFO role.
