Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Dental Lab Technician specializing in design to join our dynamic dental laboratory team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating precise dental prosthetics, restorations, and appliances, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship that meets clinical specifications. Duties
- Interpret dental prescriptions and laboratory orders to accurately design and fabricate crowns, bridges, dentures, and other prosthetic devices.
- Utilize CAD/CAM technology for digital design and modeling of dental restorations.
- Operate laboratory equipment such as micrometers, articulators, and other precision tools to ensure proper fit and function.
- Collaborate with dental professionals to review patient-specific requirements and adjust designs accordingly.
- Maintain detailed records of work processes, materials used, and quality control measures in accordance with HIPAA and infection control standards.
- Adhere to aseptic techniques during fabrication processes to prevent contamination.
- Keep up-to-date with advancements in dental materials, CAD software, and fabrication techniques to improve workflow efficiency and product quality.
- Assist in training new team members on design protocols and equipment operation as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in dental fabrication or laboratory work, with knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM systems, digital design software, and EMR systems such as Epic.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to medical documentation and patient confidentiality.
- Familiarity with medical imaging techniques relevant to dental diagnostics.
- Experience with medical coding, medical records management, and vital signs assessment is a plus.
- Knowledge of infection control procedures and aseptic techniques within a laboratory setting.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to interpret complex technical drawings and specifications.
- Background in dental assisting or chairside assisting is advantageous but not required.
