We are seeking an Project Coordinator & Estimator to become an integral part of our team at Interstate Steel Erectors, Inc. in Frankton, Indiana. Our projects include a broad range of steel fabrication and erection including structural steel, joist, deck, stairs, handrail, and other miscellaneous fabrications.
The position will report to and work from our steel fabrication shop in Frankton, IN, and is responsible for reviewing project documents prior to bid, estimating labor hours for various phases of project construction, developing budget pricing for upcoming projects, communicating with internal construction superintendents to develop firm fixed price estimates for competitively bid projects and developing and maintaining relationships with external consulting engineers and owners.
· Review specifications, drawing packages, and technical information for bidding projects to generate questions, preliminary structural design and design sketches, and material take-offs
· Prepare complete estimates and proposals based on project specific specifications and detail drawings
· Ensure accuracy and completeness of scope of work for all subcontractor solicitations
· Ensure bids and proposals are delivered prior to the strict submission deadline
· Provide budget prices for consulting engineers and potential customers
· Attend weekly sales and production meetings as well as project-specific meetings (as necessary)
Qualifications
- Familiarity with construction or steel industry and language/terminology surrounding construction/fabrication/materials/environment
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and ability to work with confidential documents
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and familiarity with Procore construction management software
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work on multiple tasks and complete tasks under strict deadlines
Hours:
- Monday - Thursday 7 am - 4:30 pm
- Friday 7 am - 2:30 pm
