Eden Design Services is actively seeking a Design Development & Business Growth Manager who is passionate about helping clients create dream landscapes where they can delight in the beauty of the outdoors and the beautiful moments we share with those around us.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys meeting people, listening to their needs, and translating vision into clear design proposals. You will be the primary point of contact for new leads, guiding clients through the early stages of the design process and converting interest into signed projects.
You will also play a key role in business growth by networking with contractors, builders, architects, and industry partners to build long-term referral relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Meet with inbound leads and prospective clients in person
- Listen carefully to client needs, goals, budget, and site constraints
- Collaborate with the design team to develop project scope and approach
- Prepare, send, and follow up on proposals and contracts
- Build and maintain relationships with contractors, architects and industry professionals
- Attend networking events, site visits, and industry functions as needed
- Track leads, proposals, and follow-ups in an organized and professional manner
- Analyze marketing opportunities and return on advertising spend
- Input prospective client’s needs/desires for team members in program management software
- Understand project lead times and processes
- Understand Eden Design brand standards and execute at that level
- Additional responsibilities as assigned by employer
Qualifications:
- Experience in sales, business development, or client-facing roles (landscape design, construction, real estate, architecture, or related industries preferred)
- Comfortable working independently in a performance-based role
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to listen, ask thoughtful questions, and build trust with clients
- Comfort discussing budgets, timelines, and contracts
- Organized, proactive, and self-motivated
- Basic understanding of landscape design, construction, or outdoor living is a plus
- Valid driver’s license and ability to attend site meetings and events throughout the East Bay (Livermore, Pleasanton, Dublin, Danville, Walnut Creek, and surrounding areas)
Compensation Package:
- Base salary: $30,000 annually
- Commission: $30,000-$90,000+ annually, paid as percentage of signed design fees, with clear monthly reporting and performance goals
- Clear earning potential directly tied to closed projects
- Flexible schedule with growth opportunities within a growing design firm
- Remote/off-site work available after initial training period
- Flexibility is required, as client meetings may occasionally fall outside standard business hours
- Monthly mileage reimbursement and phone allowance
