About the Role We are partnering with a well?established regional financial institution to hire a Sr. Credit Analyst. This role is responsible for evaluating the creditworthiness of commercial borrowers, analyzing financial risk at the start of the lending process and throughout the life of each credit, and preparing professional credit presentations to support sound lending decisions. The position plays a key role in ensuring the loan portfolio remains healthy through rigorous analysis, accurate risk assessment, and ongoing credit monitoring.
Job Description The Sr. Credit Analyst will perform detailed financial analysis for an assigned portfolio by reviewing tax returns, financial statements, and other required documents, ensuring all information is complete and accurate. This role spreads financials using systems such as Baker Hill, WebEquity, Excel, or similar tools, and interprets key metrics—including financial ratios and cash flow—to determine the viability of repayment sources. Responsibilities include evaluating primary and secondary repayment strengths, assessing collateral and guarantor support, comparing results to industry norms and internal credit policies, and accurately assigning risk ratings.
The analyst partners proactively with lenders and borrowers to clarify questions and gather additional data, and may participate in joint calls when needed. The role prepares comprehensive Credit Action Presentations to support the credit approval process and assists with annual reviews and routine credit administration. Additional duties include maintaining up?to?date credit files, reviewing loan covenant compliance, and supporting lenders with file documentation, material change forms, and ongoing tickler management.
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5+ years of progressively responsible credit analysis experience or equivalent experience demonstrating advanced analytical capability
- Experience spreading and analyzing financial statements using systems such as Baker Hill, WebEquity, Excel, or similar tools
- Strong ability to assess repayment capacity, collateral, guarantor strength, financial ratios, and cash flow
- Ability to compare financial performance against industry benchmarks and apply internal credit policy guidelines
- Proven experience assigning risk ratings and preparing professional credit presentations
- Strong collaboration skills when working with lenders and borrowers to clarify issues and gather information
