Overview
The insurance industry continues to evolve and the Credit Ratings Criteria team offers a dynamic vehicle for engaging with rating analysts and industry representatives. The Criteria Analyst I is a member of the Credit Rating Criteria, Research and Analytics Group ad participates in the application, maintenance, development and review of Best's Rating Methodology (BRM) and the related criteria procedures within rating analytics.
Responsibilities
• Responsible for the Models, Tools and Worksheets (MTW) Inventory, which will require significant interaction with internal constituents on a global basis, specifically AM Best's Quantitative Analysis Group (QAG)
• Develop and coordinate the process for adding (new) or removing (retired) MTW items from the inventory
• Serve as the internal point person/liaison for MTW organization, queries and feedback
• Serve as the lead Criteria Group member on MTW governance documentation associated with applicable Methodology Reviews (MR)
• Liaise with QAG and MTW item owner/s and/or MR lead on review work
• Prepare draft checklists for MTW items as part of routine cycle of review
• Responsible for providing management information and status updates relating to MTW items
• Provide support for regulatory queries/requests related to MTW items
• Participate in Issue/Error investigations related to MTW items
• Facilitate and maintain dialogue with internal constituents regarding inquiries about MTW
• Assist in the development of training materials
• Ensure that consistency in MTW presentation and content are met
• Coordinate and participate in meetings with Rating Division representatives; responsible for drafting minutes for MTW items
• Handle all ad-hoc requests and develop procedures as needed
• Automate and improve Criteria Group and QAG interactions and processes
• Improve documentation and filing processes (electronic and hard copy)
Qualifications
• 2 to 4 years' experience in insurance, finance or rating agency background preferred
• Bachelor's Degree required
• Additional certifications (e.g. ARM, CPCU etc.) preferred
Skills
• Strong business and technical writing/editing, communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to coordinate between internal groups is key
• Proficient in the use of Adobe; Microsoft Office, specifically Excel-intermediate level; PowerPoint and Word
• Knowledge base of the insurance industry/financial markets
• Ability to explain complex tasks and processes in a cogent manner
• Strong time management and planning abilities
• Highly organized, analytical thinker with attention to detail
• Ability to multi-task and be a team player
