Superintendent
Vero Design + Build, a design build firm that specializes in general contracting, custom millwork and steel fabrication, is looking for a motivated on-site superintendent to manage on-site construction teams and oversee all work. The duties include maintaining orderliness on-site, job scheduling and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Understand full project scope including all subcontractors’ scopes of work , recognize when change orders may be necessary and alert the project manager.
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members to identify requirements and relay instructions.
- Problem solve and work well under pressure and time constraints.
- Develop and maintain project schedule and coordinate/communicate the schedule effectively with subcontractors.
- Attend weekly progress meetings with clients
- Assemble and maintain daily job logs
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years supervision experience
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications
- Ability to accurately take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed
- Have the physical stamina and strength to lift and carry heavy materials.
- Have knowledge of building codes and safety regulations, and are able to follow safety guidelines at all times.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite, Google Docs/Sheets platform and Google Drive sharing.
- Ability to operate interlinked company standard spreadsheets
- Previous carpentry or other trade experience and fluency in Spanish is a plus.
- Must provide their own transportation to and from jobsites in the Chicagoland area.
Compensation is commensurate with experience
