Brooklyn Football Club is building a community-first, culturally resonant football ecosystem rooted in creativity, inclusion, and the unique spirit of Brooklyn. We blend sport, culture, and community impact to create experiences that extend beyond the pitch. We’re looking for a Marketing Manager who can help grow the club’s presence, elevate our brand, and deepen relationships with fans, partners, and the broader Brooklyn community.
Position Overview
The Social Media Coordinator will lead day-to-day marketing initiatives for Brooklyn FC, overseeing brand storytelling, campaign execution, digital presence, and fan engagement. This person will play a pivotal role in shaping how the club shows up across touchpoints, from social content to matchday execution to community events.
You’re a strategic thinker and hands-on executor who understands sports culture, community-driven marketing, and what drives modern fans. You can switch seamlessly between high-level planning and on-the-ground activation.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing Strategy & Execution
- Develop and execute cohesive marketing plans to drive brand awareness, ticket sales, merchandise, and club engagement.
- Manage a monthly Marketing Calendar.
- Coordinate content capture on the ground with the respective BKFC team, generating social-first content that will support channel growth.
- Support long-term brand positioning and creative messaging across all channels.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Creative, Comms, Ops, Ticketing, PR) to align on marketing priorities and timelines.
Campaign Management
- Plan, launch, and manage integrated campaigns for seasons, matches, product drops, partnerships, and community programs.
- Oversee campaign calendars, deliverables, and performance.
Platform Management
- Support content strategy across social, email, and web to ensure consistent brand voice.
- Work with creative teams to develop high-performing digital assets.
- Monitor trends in football culture, NYC culture, and social platforms to keep Brooklyn FC innovative and relevant.
- Manage social media handbooks with brand voice details, login details, and important links.
- Execute daily management of posting on platforms.
- Execute community management day to day.
- Execute excellent game-day social media management in full compliance with league requirements, ensuring all posts are timely and no fines are incurred due to missed or late publishing.
Partnership & Sponsorship Marketing
- Activate brand partnerships through content, events, and integrations.
- Support partner onboarding and ensure partnership deliverables are met.
- Collaborate with the team to create compelling pitch materials when needed.
Fan & Community Engagement
- Build programs that strengthen fan loyalty and grow the Brooklyn FC community.
- Collaborate on matchday marketing, promotions, and in-stadium experiences.
- Support grassroots initiatives, youth programs, and community outreach.
Analytics & Reporting
- Track and analyze campaign performance across platforms.
- Provide regular reporting with insights and recommendations.
- Use data to refine future marketing strategies.
Qualifications
- 2–5+ years of experience in marketing, specifically within sports social media.
- Strong understanding of social media, digital marketing, and audience-growth strategies.
- Experience managing campaigns from concept to execution.
- Excellent communication, project management, and organizational skills.
- A creative thinker with a deep understanding of culture, community, and brand storytelling.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- A passion for the game, Brooklyn culture, and purpose-driven brand building.
- Demonstrate a strong design eye by confidently approving and advancing social creative that elevates the club, through close collaboration with the designer and Account Executive.
Preferred Skills
- Strong experience with Slate & Scoreplay.
- Ability to creatively direct shoots for product launches and important announcements.
- Comfortable with working on the ground with players and coaches.
- Experience with sports media best practices and well-versed in the game of football.
- Experience with paid media and email marketing.
- Background working with creative teams (design, video, copy).
- Event or matchday marketing experience.
- Media Day direction experience.
- Understanding of sports partnership marketing.
- Networked in the sports space with connections to photographers, videographers, and creatives that can support the club when needed.
