Full-Time, Hybrid role, On-Site & Field-Based, Base Compensation + Comission
About Us:
Butterfly Spirits is a woman-owned craft distillery based in North Bethesda, Maryland. We produce a line of premium, vintage-inspired spirits and cocktails designed to bring people together. We’re growing our presence across the DMV and are seeking a motivated and creative individual for the combined roles of Head of Marketing & Communications and Sales Manager to help us expand.
Position Overview:
This is a full-time, dual role focused on Marketing, Communications, Public Relations and Sales. Compensation includes base pay plus commission. This position reports to the General Manager, Owner & Co-Founders for Marketing & Communications responsibilities and directly to the Owner for all Sales responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
· Develop, implement and oversee marketing and publicity campaigns, social media content, and promotions
· Develop and implement tactics and campaigns designed to drive traffic to the distillery, including on-site events
· Obtain and direct public relations opportunities for the business
· Develop local partnerships and community outreach opportunities
· Track marketing, PR, social media metrics and customer feedback to drive improvements
· Participate in the front-of-house retail sales program
· Conduct in-person sales calls to liquor stores, bars, and restaurants in Maryland and DC
· Open new accounts and build strong relationships with buyers and managers
· Maintain regular communication and provide exceptional follow-up
· Coordinate and complete deliveries to accounts
· Attend tastings, events, and account activations as needed
· Track and report all outreach, sales, activity and commissions
· “Other duties” as needed from time-to-time to support the business
Qualifications:
· Prior experience in sales, marketing, or beverage alcohol industry strongly preferred
· Excellent communication, self-motivation, and follow-through
· Must be 21+ and legally authorized to work in the U.S.
· Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and ability to lift 50 lbs
· Smartphone with ability to log visits
· Evening/weekend flexibility for occasional events or lounge shifts
Compensation & Benefits:
· Base pay: $19/hour, 40 hours per week
· 20% commission on gross sales from off-site products sold
· $250 monthly parking/gas stipend
· Flexible schedule and entrepreneurial autonomy
