We are seeking a highly motivated Analyst to join the HSBC Infrastructure Finance team. This role offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic group responsible for originating, structuring, and executing complex project finance transactions across sectors such as energy, infrastructure, transportation, and digital assets. The Analyst will play a key role in supporting deal teams from initial pitch through financial close, gaining exposure to clients, markets, and investment structures.
As Our Analyst You Will
- Build, maintain, and stress-test detailed project finance models (including debt sizing, cash flow forecasting, and sensitivity analysis)
- Analyze financial statements, industry data, and project documentation to assess risk and bankability
- Support senior team members in structuring and executing project finance transactions, including term sheet development, credit applications, due diligence, and documentation review
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders (credit, legal, risk, syndications, and other produce partners) throughout the approval and execution process
- Conduct industry and sector research to identify trends and opportunities in infrastructure, energy transition, and other relevant sectors
- Working with our Portfolio Management team, monitor existing loan exposures, including compliance with covenants and performance against forecasts
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, or related field (Master’s or CFA a plus)
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with proficiency in Excel and financial modeling
- Basic knowledge of corporate finance, debt products, and capital markets; familiarity with project finance concepts a plus
- Licenses 7, 79, and 63, may allow for contingency to obtain
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, manage multiple tasks, and meet tight deadlines
- High level of motivation, attention to detail, and intellectual curiosity
