ABOUT THE ROLE
Visit Lake Tahoe is seeking a highly creative, hands-on Marketing and Content Specialist to serve as a core contributor to our in-house content and digital marketing engine.
This role goes beyond basic content support. You will actively produce, manage, and optimize storytelling across web, social, email, and campaign channels that drive measurable visitation, partner value, and brand growth. You’ll operate like a mini media house — creating content that inspires travel, supports major events and group sales, and fuels year-round demand for the south shore of Lake Tahoe.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Campaign Execution & Performance
- Support planning, execution, and tracking of integrated marketing campaigns in partnership with agencies and vendors.
- Maintain campaign calendars, organize assets, and ensure on-time delivery.
- Monitor performance metrics and contribute optimization recommendations.
- Use insights and analytics to improve results.
Content Creation & Storytelling
- Produce written, photo, and video content for website, blog, email, and social channels.
- Capture on-site content at events, partner properties, and activations.
- Support in the creation of engaging, conversion-focused copy aligned with Visit Lake Tahoe brand standards.
- Develop itineraries, guides, and seasonal features that inspire visitation.
- Maintain an organized B-roll and asset library.
Content Creation & Storytelling

Digital & Social Media Management
- Manage day-to-day social publishing, engagement, and performance tracking.
- Execute growth strategies using short-form video and emerging formats.
- Recommend pivots based on analytics.
- Amplify partner and stakeholder content.
Website & Owned Channel Management
- Update website and microsites using CMS platforms.
- Optimize content for SEO and user experience.
- Support email marketing production and segmentation.
- Ensure content accuracy and brand consistency.
Sales, Events & Partner Support
- Create assets to support sales initiatives, event bids, and trade shows.
- Develop partner toolkits and shareable resources.
- Collaborate with Sales, Events, and PR teams.
- Capture content for major events and destination activations.
Brand & Asset Management
- Maintain asset libraries and brand guidelines.
- Ensure visual and messaging consistency across all channels.
- Coordinate deliverables with agencies and vendors.
Marketing Operations & Insights
- Track KPIs including traffic, engagement, and conversions.
- Conduct research and trend analysis.
- Contribute ideas to improve performance and efficiency.
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Experience
- 2–4 years in marketing, digital media, content creation, or communications.
- Tourism or hospitality experience preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to create content independently.
Skills
- Strong storytelling and copywriting.
- Social media management and analytics experience.
- Familiarity with CMS platforms, email tools, and SEO best practices.
- Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite proficiency.
- Strong organization and time management.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to attend events and work evenings/weekends.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business administration, or related field preferred.
- An associate's degree with relevant experience will be considered.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $65,000–$74,000 annually.
