Position Overview
Silver Lands, Inc. is seeking an ambitious, career-driven Landscape Designer to join our design team. This role will support HOA communities, commercial properties, and design-build projects, working closely with Landscape Architects, Project Managers, Estimators, and Construction teams from concept through installation.
The ideal candidate will assist with drafting, landscape design, client coordination, site analysis, and project cost and material estimating, ensuring designs are functional, buildable, and aligned with budget and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare landscape designs for HOA, commercial, and design-build projects, including hardscape, softscape, and conceptual irrigation layouts
- Develop construction-ready drawings, details, and design development sets using AutoCAD
- Conduct independent site visits for site studies, measurements, documentation, and existing condition analysis
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure design intent aligns with construction methods, schedules, and budgets
- Participate in client and HOA meetings to present design concepts and respond to feedback
- Select appropriate plant materials suitable for Nevada and Arizona desert climates, emphasizing water-efficient and sustainable solutions
- Assist with project cost estimates, material takeoffs, and value engineering efforts
- Ensure designs comply with local municipal codes, HOA guidelines, and project specifications
- Support revisions and design adjustments during construction as needed
Qualifications & Requirements
Ideal candidates will have the following:
- Positive, professional attitude with strong attention to detail
- Solid foundation in Landscape Design and/or Landscape Architecture, particularly for HOA and commercial developments
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to collaborate across departments including design, estimating, and field operations
- Knowledge of landscape construction methods, materials, detailing, and applicable regulations
- Ability to independently perform site visits, surveys, and field verification
- Strong knowledge of plant materials, particularly for the Nevada and Arizona regions
- Understanding of grading concepts, hardscape systems, and irrigation coordination
- Experience incorporating budget constraints and constructability into design solutions
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred but not required
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture or Landscape Design preferred (or equivalent professional experience)
- 3–5 years of AutoCAD experience (required)
- AutoCAD proficiency test will be required during the interview process
Software Proficiency:
- AutoCAD (required)
- Microsoft Office Suite (required)
- Adobe Photoshop (preferred)
- SketchUp (preferred)
- Twinmotion or similar rendering software (preferred)
Travel Requirement
Silver Lands, Inc. operates in multiple states. This position may require occasional air travel. Candidates must be comfortable traveling independently or with team members.
