Job Title: Data Support Analyst
Location: Chicago, IL
Work Model: Onsite for first 6 months, then hybrid 3 days onsite
Compensation: $85,000 to $95,000 base + bonus
A Chicago-based financial technology company is hiring a Data Client Support Analyst to support clients using historical datasets, analytics products, and APIs. This role works closely with Product, Data Engineering, and Infrastructure teams to ensure reliable data delivery and a high level of client service.
This position is well suited for candidates with Python experience, financial market data exposure, API experience, and prior client facing technical support experience. Licenses are a plus but not required.
Responsibilities
Act as the primary point of contact for client issues related to historical data, analytics files, market data, and APIs Diagnose and resolve issues related to data quality, API connectivity, permissions, entitlements, and file delivery Escalate complex issues with clear diagnostics, logs, and reproduction steps Support and troubleshoot REST and WebSocket APIs using tools such as Postman Partner with internal engineering, quant, and infrastructure teams to resolve client issues Maintain Jira tickets, documentation, and internal runbooks Support trial users and assist with technical onboarding into production
Desired Skills And Experience
Python scripting experience Financial market data knowledge Prior client support or technical support experience API experience, including REST and WebSocket SQL querying and data troubleshooting Familiarity with CSV, JSON, Parquet, or similar data formats Ability to read logs and diagnose system issues
