The Role
Sturbridge Capital is seeking a highly motivated Analyst to join its investment team. This role offers broad exposure to private equity secondaries and is well-suited for candidates looking to deepen their investment skillset. Responsibilities include evaluating new investment opportunities; conducting due diligence on secondary funds and fund of funds and their underlying portfolio companies; building and maintaining financial models; preparing investment committee materials; and supporting the investment team throughout the transaction process.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate secondary private equity investment opportunities, including LP-led and GP-led transactions
- Conduct in-depth quantitative and qualitative due diligence on private equity funds and their underlying portfolio companies
- Build and maintain financial models for companies, funds, and transactions, including analysis of fund cash flows and portfolio performance
- Prepare investment committee materials
- Support transaction execution, including coordination with counterparties, intermediaries, and internal stakeholders
- Monitor and report on existing investments through regular interaction with fund managers, including update calls and attendance at annual general meetings
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with strong academic performance
- Exceptional quantitative and analytical skills
- Solid knowledge of valuation techniques, corporate finance topics, and financial modeling
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a collaborative, fast-paced team
- High level of intellectual curiosity, attention to detail, and strong work ethic
- Demonstrated interest in investing and secondary private equity
Experience
- 0-2 years of relevant finance experience (e.g., private equity, investment banking, investment management, or other finance roles)
