About the Role
The Lux Productions is seeking an experienced Live Event Production Supervisor to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of live events. This role is designed for dedicated technical and production professionals with expertise in Video Systems & Displays and/or Lighting Design, who bring strong leadership, organization, and ownership to complex productions.
Production Supervisors translate client and sales requirements into clear, executable production plans and ensure all technical elements are fully prepared, documented, and show-ready. This is a hands-on leadership role that balances pre-production planning, team leadership, and on-site technical execution.
Key Responsibilities
Event Planning & Production Coordination
- Develop detailed technical production plans aligned with approved scopes and company standards
- Translate client and sales requirements into clear technical and operational documentation
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive event documentation, including:
- Technical plots, system diagrams, and signal flow
- Equipment lists, subrental needs, and shop prep tasks
- Patch sheets, input/output lists, and power distribution plans
- Labor schedules, crew calls, and run-of-show materials
- Venue logistics, load-in/load-out details, and site constraints
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of production operations
Leadership & Crew Development
- Provide leadership in both pre-production and on-site environments, setting clear expectations and technical standards
- Lead crews through load-in, rehearsal, show execution, and load-out while maintaining a safe, efficient, and collaborative work environment
- Serve in field leadership and technical roles as required
- Mentor and train crew members through hands-on guidance, clear communication, and example-driven leadership
- Support team development through documentation standards, workflow clarity, and knowledge sharing in the office
Department & Asset Stewardship
- Act as a technical owner for equipment, documentation, and quality control within an assigned discipline (e.g., Video or Lighting)
- Ensure equipment is inspected, maintained, and show-ready
- Identify repair, replacement, and upgrade needs and coordinate with leadership and warehouse teams
- Maintain accurate inventory information and equipment status
Client & Stakeholder Communication
- Coordinate directly with clients, artists, and external partners on technical requirements
- Participate in client meetings and maintain clear, professional communication
- Ensure client-facing details are accurately reflected in production plans
Post-Event Review & Continuous Improvement
- Participate in post-event reviews and debriefs
- Document lessons learned and improvement opportunities
- Contribute to workflow, training, and process improvements
- Lead by example and support the growth of other team members
Ideal Candidate Qualifications
Candidates may qualify through Video, Lighting, or both.
Video Systems & Displays
- Experience with LED walls, video displays, and projection systems
- Video switching, routing, and signal distribution
- Integrating live cameras and recording into video workflows
- Strong understanding of resolutions, formats, and troubleshooting

Lighting Design & Systems
- Professional experience in lighting design and execution
- Hands-on proficiency with conventional, LED, and moving fixtures

Schedule & Work Environment
- Schedule varies according to event production needs.
- Availability for nights, weekends, holidays, and event days is required.
- Local travel to event sites is expected.
Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
