Role Overview
Vyynl Labs is seeking a part time Graphic Illustrator and Project Coordinator to support both creative execution and structured project delivery across our educational programs.
This is a remote position based in the New York City Metropolitan Area. The role offers flexibility, with occasional coordination tied to school project timelines. The ideal candidate is a strong visual thinker who can produce high quality digital illustrations and character designs while also helping manage timelines, deliverables, and communication across projects.
This is not simply a design role. It is a creative leadership position within an educational environment.

Compensation
Hourly Rate: $30 to $40 per hour
Compensation is based on experience, portfolio strength, and demonstrated project management capability.
This is a contract based, part time role with flexible scheduling aligned to active program cycles.

Key Responsibilities
Creative and Illustration
• Create original digital illustrations and character designs for student programs, mascots, murals, and branded content
• Design graphics for logos, posters, flyers, social media, apparel, and environmental installations
• Edit and refine imagery for print production and digital use
• Translate concepts into visually compelling artwork aligned with Vyynl’s mission and design language
• Prepare production ready files for print, vinyl installation, and digital distribution
Project Coordination
• Support project timelines from concept through final delivery
• Track design milestones, revisions, and approvals
• Communicate with internal team members including Creative Director and Project Managers
• Help organize assets, naming conventions, and file management
• Ensure deadlines are met across multiple active school based projects
Educational Collaboration
• Work alongside instructors to develop age appropriate visual assets
• Support student design reviews and critiques when needed
• Maintain professionalism in school environments
• Align creative output with educational goals and DOE standards

Qualifications
• Demonstrated experience in digital illustration and character design
• Strong graphic design foundation including layout, typography, and color theory
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator and Photoshop
• Ability to prepare files for large format print and installation
• Strong image editing and production knowledge
• High attention to detail and creative problem solving ability
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment
• Experience working in educational settings or with youth is a plus
• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Illustration, Fine Arts, or related field preferred
