About this role: Wells Fargo is seeking an Investment Banking Associate to join our Mid-Cap Investment Banking team in New York, NY. The Associate will be responsible for working on client coverage materials, conducting industry research and screening, transaction origination and execution of the full range of investment banking products and services across diverse sectors. Primary sectors covered include Industrials and Consumer & Retail, but may also include Technology, Media & Telecom, Oil & Gas and others based on client needs.
In this role, you will:
- Work to support the business strategy and relevant teams to expand Wells Fargo's investment banking activities in the region
- Support senior bankers with relationship management responsibilities, which aligns with consistent coverage of Wells Fargo Commercial Banking clients
- Prepare marketing documents, including pitch materials, confidential offering memoranda and management presentations
- Keep abreast of key market developments and establish knowledge of the target client base and relevant market dynamics
- Coordinate closely with internal and external resources to help arrange client meetings and important engagements
- Perform financial analysis, including comparable transactions and public company analysis
- Create detailed financial models used for valuation purposes
- Conduct extensive financial and industry due diligence to evaluate the risk/return parameters of a transaction
- Utilize Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint to present various pieces of analysis
- Manage transaction logistics, including organizing data rooms and working group lists
Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of Investment Banking Program experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
- 1+ year of experience across the full M&A transaction life cycle, including origination and execution
- Prior experience at a large investment banking platform and/or a leading securities firm
- Sound analytical and communication skills, attention to detail, and willingness to take on significant responsibility
- High level of personal motivation, strong interpersonal skills, and a broad intellectual capacity
- Ability to function both independently and as part of a team while meeting stringent deadlines and work quality standards
- Prior experience working in a demanding, highly focused, collaborative, team environment
- Strong team player that works with a high level of ethics and integrity
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
Job Expectations:
- Willingness to work on-site in accordance with current office requirements
- Ability to work additional hours as needed
- Registration for FINRA Series 79 must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
- Registration for FINRA Series 63 (or 66) must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
- For specific FINRA qualification exams obtained after 9/30/2018, the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam co-requisite may also be required.
- This position is subject to FINRA Background Screening Requirements, including successful completion and clearing of a background check. Internal transfers are subject to compliance with 17 CFR 240.17f-2 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and FINRA Bylaws, Article III, Section 3, which states that Associated Persons should not be subject to statutory disqualification Successful candidates must also meet ongoing regulatory requirements including additional screening and are required to report certain incidents.

Additional Compensation Details:
- Base pay range for this position is $175,000 - $225,000
- May be considered for an annual discretionary bonus

Pay Range Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.
