Merchandise Assistant – Replenishment
Job Purpose and Scope
The Merchandise Assistant – Replenishment is a highly analytical, detail-oriented professional responsible for supporting the Replenishment Director and Replenishment Team in driving inventory productivity and in-stock performance across stores and distribution centers.
This role plays a critical part in ensuring the right product is in the right place at the right time by analyzing sales trends, monitoring replenishment metrics, maintaining data accuracy, and supporting purchase order execution. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong organizational skills, advanced Excel proficiency, and the ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced retail environment.
This position serves as a developmental role with exposure to inventory strategy, allocation, and supply chain processes within the merchandising organization.
Essential Job Functions
- Supports the Replenishment Director and team in executing inventory and replenishment strategies to maximize in-stock levels and sales productivity.
- Analyzes sales performance, stock levels, weeks of supply, and replenishment flow to identify risks and opportunities.
- Prepares and maintains weekly, monthly, and seasonal reporting on inventory productivity, sell-through, aged inventory, and replenishment trends.
- Assists in purchase order entry, maintenance, and tracking to ensure timely and accurate product flow.
- Monitors replenishment system outputs and ensures data integrity across internal reporting systems.
- Partners cross-functionally with Buyers, Assistant Buyers, Distribution Centers, and vendors to resolve shipping, allocation, and on-hand discrepancies.
- Assists in managing price changes, item setup, and maintenance within internal systems to support replenishment accuracy.
- Coordinates product sample liquidation and supports inventory balancing initiatives as needed.
- Maintains professional and timely communication with internal leadership and external partners.
- Adapts priorities based on business needs and seasonal volume shifts.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis required).
- Knowledge of retail math concepts including sell-through, turn, margin, weeks of supply, and inventory productivity.
- Ability to analyze large data sets and identify trends or discrepancies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.

Position Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required (Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Merchandising, or related field preferred).
- Strong Excel proficiency required.
- Internship or prior retail, merchandising, allocation, or inventory experience preferred.
