Position Overview:
We are seeking an a highly analytical and detail-oriented professional to manage inventory and forecasting for our Amazon US and international accounts. This role is critical to ensuring product availability, optimizing inventory levels, and driving operational efficiency for a brand with 1,500 SKUs in a highly seasonal business.
Key Responsibilities
- Quarterly Demand Forecasting & Buying: Develop and maintain accurate quarterly forecasts to support purchasing decisions.
- Weekly FBA Replenishment: Plan and execute weekly shipments to Amazon fulfillment centers, ensuring optimal stock levels.
- SKU-Level Forecasting: Maintain and update a 12-month rolling forecast at the SKU level.
- Forecast vs. Actuals Analysis: Conduct monthly reviews of forecast accuracy and adjust models accordingly.
- Seasonal & Promotional Planning: Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to incorporate seasonal spikes, promotions, and advertising campaigns into forecasts.
- Out-of-Stock Tracking: Monitor out-of-stock items and calculate projected missed sales due to stockouts.
- Data Analysis & Continuous Improvement: Use historical data and trend analysis to refine forecasting models and improve inventory efficiency.
- New Product Launch Planning: Forecast demand for new product introductions and manage buying and send-in processes.
- Amazon Inventory Health: Manage inventory to maintain a strong IPI score and avoid long-term storage fees.
- Warehouse Loss Management: Track and manage lost and damaged items at warehouses to ensure accurate inventory and financial reconciliation.
- MCF & Buy with Prime Inventory: Track and manage inventory for Multi-Channel Fulfillment and Buy with Prime orders across other channels.
- Cross-Functional Communication: Serve as the point of contact between operations, supply chain, finance, and marketing teams for inventory-related decisions.
- Performance Metrics & KPIs: Track and report key metrics such as forecast accuracy, inventory turns, stockout rate, and IPI score trends.
- Reporting & Insights: Prepare inventory and forecast reports for internal stakeholders monthly review.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements in forecasting and inventory management processes.
Preferred Experience
- Amazon Expertise: Familiarity with Amazon Seller Central, FBA workflows, and inventory management.
- Fulfillment Fee Optimization: Experience designing packaging to optimize for Amazon fulfillment fee tiers.
- Fee Structure Knowledge: Familiarity with all Amazon fulfillment fees, including inbound, FBA, and storage.
- Nice-to-Have Skills: Experience with Amazon Global Logistics, AWD (Amazon Warehousing & Distribution), and PDP optimization.
- Technical Skills: Advanced Excel proficiency (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas); experience with forecasting tools or ERP systems. Experience utilizing AI.
- Background: 1+ years in demand planning, inventory planning, or supply chain management.
- Analytical Mindset: Strong ability to interpret data and make strategic decisions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree – preferred in Supply Chain, Inventory Planning, or related field.
- Proven experience in forecasting and inventory planning for e-commerce or retail.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, seasonal environment.
