Position summary
The Account Executive / Account Manager is responsible for prospecting, qualifying, and managing accounts to grow revenue and maintain long-term partner relationships. This role executes outreach and follow up, supports pursuit and proposal activities, coordinates with outside sales and marketing, and owns account renewal and retention efforts.
Core responsibilities
1. Prospect and generate new business through cold calling and email outreach.
2. Use LinkedIn messaging software to execute approved outreach sequences. Draft messages for approval and monitor results. Manage and respond to inbound replies.
3. Follow up on leads and opportunities provided by outside sales and inside sales. Qualify opportunities and move them through the pipeline.
4. Own assigned accounts, including onboarding, ongoing relationship management, and renewal activities.
5. Coordinate introductions and relationship building between partners and vendor or subcontractor resources. Support proposal preparation and pursuit of executed agreements or purchase orders.
6. Work with marketing to support partner brand building and maintenance. This may include coordinating LinkedIn posts and profile management for clients.
7. Maintain accurate records of outreach, opportunities, and submitted quotes. Provide copies of submitted quotes and awarded purchase orders within company timeframes for commission tracking.
8. Participate in onboarding tasks for new partners, including LinkedIn messaging setup and creating a dedicated prospecting email account.
Success metrics
• Qualified opportunities generated and converted to revenue.
• Account retention and renewals.
• Meeting outreach and pipeline activity targets for outreach and follow up.
Qualifications
• Proven experience in B2B sales or account management.
• Strong phone and email prospecting skills.
• Experience with LinkedIn Sales Navigator and LinkedIn messaging tools preferred.
• Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
• Detail oriented with experience maintaining sales records and supporting proposal efforts.
Compensation and commission
• Base salary plus commissions and bonuses. Account Managers are eligible for account renewal bonuses and other performance-based incentives.
• Company-level commission and partner-specific commission terms are included in client agreements and proposals.
Onboarding and tools
• Participate in partner onboarding checklist and sales team process review. Tasks include LinkedIn messaging setup and creation of prospecting email accounts.
• Primary tools include CRM, LinkedIn Sales Navigator and LinkedIn messaging software, and internal prospecting email.
