Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Upholstery Technician to join our team. This role requires the ability to quickly learn and adapt to work safely and efficiently, follow safety procedures, and work well as a team or independently. You should also have strong communication skills and be able to follow written and verbal instructions. In this position, it will be your responsibility to repair, restore, and upholster furniture to meet company quality standards and customer specifications. This role requires precision craftsmanship, attention to detail, and the ability to work with a variety of fabrics, materials, and tools.
The ideal candidate will be mechanically skilled and capable of using many different hand and power tools, organized, proactive, and capable of handling a dynamic work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Remove old upholstery, padding, and damaged materials from furniture frames
- Inspect furniture frames for structural integrity and perform minor repairs as needed
- Measure and cut fabric, leather, or other materials accurately
- Apply padding, springs, foam, webbing, and cushioning materials
- Operate hand tools and upholstery equipment safely and efficiently
- Stretch, fit, and secure upholstery materials using staples, tacks, or adhesives
- Match fabrics and patterns according to customer or design specifications
- Ensure finished products meet quality standards and timelines
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Communicate with supervisors regarding project status and material needs
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional relevant certifications or training is a plus
- Proven experience in furniture upholstery or related craft work
- Strong knowledge of upholstery materials, fabrics, and tools
- Ability to read measurements and follow work orders accurately
- Manual dexterity and physical stamina
- Attention to detail and commitment to craftsmanship
- Ability to complete a wide array of repair and tasks with minimal supervision
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
Working Conditions:
- Primarily shop-based environment with some field tasks dependent on project.
- Site visits may be required to give more in depth estimates, meet with clients, or gather information relevant for more complex projects
- Physical ability to remain standing or moving on your feet for the majority of your shift.
- Ability to lift and move furniture (up to 75 lbs.)

Job Type: Full Time W2 (30 hr min) Pay: From $20-25 per hour
