About the Company:
Amphora Equity Partners is a newly launched private equity firm that makes control investments in the North American packaged food and beverage sector. The firm focuses on well-established branded products and contract manufacturing businesses in which it can support management teams to drive real value creation through operational excellence and follow-on acquisitions.
Role Overview:
The Private Equity Associate will play a critical role in sourcing, evaluating, and executing new investment opportunities while supporting the growth of Amphora’s portfolio of food and beverage brands. This individual will be involved in all aspects of the deal process from diligence and transaction execution to post-close strategic and tactical support, partnering closely with portfolio leadership to drive brand growth and value creation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with portfolio leadership to assess investment fit and scalability of food and beverage/CPG brands by providing in-depth financial modeling, consumer and category analysis, and evaluations of brand infrastructure, supply chain, and go-to-market readiness.
- Support deal sourcing, track industry M&A activity, and maintain reports of market multiples.
- Manage due diligence workstreams including financial, commercial, and operational diligence.
- Oversee data rooms, diligence checklists, financial modeling, and the preparation of investment materials, including deal specific models and investment memorandums.
- Support portfolio companies in post-acquisition integration, growth planning, and performance tracking.
- Partner with operations teams to evaluate commercialization, innovation pipeline, and brand scaling initiatives consistent with initial investment analysis.
- Maintain competitive and trend analysis within key CPG categories to identify and stay ahead of emerging investment opportunities.
- Develop reports and recommendations for leadership on market trends, consumer behavior, and new growth opportunities.
- Assist in analysis of debt financing, add-on acquisitions, and strategic exits to optimize portfolio performance and investor returns.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, or M&A focused business development within the consumer, food, or beverage sectors.
- Demonstrated experience managing or contributing to deal processes, including CIM creation, financial modeling, diligence coordination, and transaction execution.
- Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, with a strong emphasis on Excel for financial modeling and scenario analysis, along with PowerPoint for data visualization.
- Experience with syndicated data (SPINS, Neilson, Circana) is a plus.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Self-starter with entrepreneurial mindset and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
- Passion for consumer brands/food manufacturing and a deep curiosity about product innovation, retail trends, and brand building.
