About the Role
We built Assembled Brands because we understand what it takes to grow a consumer brand — and we know that access to smart, flexible capital can make all the difference. Our Portfolio team sits at the heart of that mission, working directly with the emerging brands in our portfolio to keep them funded, compliant, and set up to win.
As a Portfolio Analyst, you’ll own a portfolio of asset-based lending (ABL) facilities — managing the day-to-day relationship with borrowers, monitoring collateral performance, and keeping a sharp eye on risk. You’ll work closely with our Director of Portfolio and play a real role in the decisions that matter. This is a full time, role for someone who’s detail-oriented but also knows how to communicate clearly and confidently with founders, operators, and senior management alike. This is a hybrid position requiring on-site work two days per week (Monday and Wednesday), with additional in-office days as requested by management.
What You'll Do
- Review and process borrower funding requests in line with borrowing base mechanics and approval conditions
- Examine and interpret client Borrowing Base Certificates (BBCs), ensuring calculations and reporting align with individual deal structures and underwriting requirements
- Monitor portfolio performance continuously — tracking collateral trends, reviewing financial and bank statements, and flagging emerging risk before it becomes a problem
- Escalate issues appropriately and decisively to the Director of Portfolio or senior management when action is needed
- Ensure new and existing borrowers meet all operating and funding conditions
- Maintain clean, organized compliance documentation across your portfolio
- Coordinate with third-party field examiners, appraisers, attorneys, and other service providers
- Support the Director of Portfolio on borrower requests — overadvances, amendments, and the like — with clear analytical recommendations
- Schedule and review field examinations and inventory appraisals in a timely manner
- Serve as a consistent, reliable point of contact for your borrowers on collateral reporting, funding, and compliance matters
- Perform other duties as needed
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree required; Finance or Accounting preferred
- 1–3+ years of experience in Business/Commercial Lending (bank experience a plus)
- Borrower account management experience is a plus
- Strong financial statement analysis and modeling skills
- Excel fluency — you’re comfortable building and navigating complex spreadsheets
- Clear, confident communicator — you can hold your own with founders, senior management, attorneys, and auditors
- Organized and calm under pressure — you manage competing priorities without dropping the ball
- Proactive mindset — you spot problems early and come with solutions, not just observations
