Job Title: SolidWorks Designer – Mission Critical Modular Systems
Location: Greeley, Colorado (Local Candidates Only)
Company: Bentley Mission Critical (Bentley Welding Inc.)
About the Role
Bentley Mission Critical is looking for a high-performance SolidWorks Designer to support the design and development of next-generation modular data center infrastructure. This is not a typical drafting role—we are building manufacturable, repeatable products at scale, not one-off construction drawings.
You will work directly with operations, engineering, and executive leadership to turn concepts into fabrication-ready designs that drive lean manufacturing and rapid deployment.
What You’ll Do
- Develop detailed 3D models and assemblies in SolidWorks for modular steel structures, mechanical skids, and electrical integration systems
- Produce fabrication drawings, weldments, and BOMs ready for shop production
- Design with a manufacturing-first mindset (not construction drawings in a building)
- Collaborate with operations to ensure designs support lean workflows, takt time, and repeatability
- Standardize components and create modular design libraries
- Coordinate with mechanical and electrical teams for integrated system layouts
- Support rapid prototyping and continuous improvement of existing designs
- Participate in Gemba walks to align design with real-world production
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of SolidWorks experience (weldments, assemblies, configurations required)
- Strong understanding of structural steel design and fabrication
- Experience creating shop drawings and cut lists
- Ability to think beyond design—focus on buildability, efficiency, and scale
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment
- Strong attention to detail and ownership mindset
Bonus Experience:
- Modular construction or prefabrication
- Data center infrastructure (mechanical/electrical layouts)
- PDM or ERP integration with design workflows
- Sheet metal and routing (electrical/mechanical integration)
What Success Looks Like
- Welders have everything they need—no guesswork, no missing info
- Designs flow through the shop like an assembly line, not a construction site
- Reduced rework, improved throughput, and scalable product designs
- Standardized modules that can be replicated across multi-MW deployments
Why Bentley
- We are building AI-driven data center infrastructure at scale
- Lean manufacturing is not a buzzword here—it’s how we operate
- Direct exposure to leadership and real impact on major projects
- Opportunity to help define the future of modular mission-critical construction
Bentley Mission Critical
Relentlessly doing the impossible—through manufacturing, not construction.
