Seasonal Floral Designer (As-Needed Basis)
The Joyful Poppy is seeking several experienced floral designers to join our team on an as-needed basis throughout the summer and fall seasons. This role is ideal for designers with wedding industry experience who enjoy working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the design team to create floral arrangements according to specific order details and event requirements
- Maintain a high level of attention to detail to ensure designs meet company standards
- Assist with wedding and event setups and deliveries
- Support large-scale installations, including hanging and vine installations
Qualifications
- Prior floral design experience, specifically within the wedding industry. Minimum of 2-3 years.
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to follow design recipes and order descriptions, even when the style differs from your personal aesthetic
- Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as required by event schedules
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks during 8-hour shifts
- Professional, dependable, and able to work collaboratively within a team
- Positive attitude and enthusiasm for contributing to a supportive team environment
- Must be okay working on ladders and with heights
- Must have a reliable vehicle and be willing to transport flowers to wedding sites if needed. (We do have two work vehicles so this should be limited)
Hours
- This is an as-needed type of position.
- Schedules will be discussed 2-4 months in advance
- Busy months generally start in May-November
Pay
- Hourly is dependent on experience and performance
- Paid weekly on Wednesdays
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
