The Role
As Sales & Merchandising Manager at Terra, you will play a pivotal role in building and optimizing our online presence, defining our product assortment, supporting strong relationships with our most important partners, and driving revenue growth through data-driven decision making. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work remotely with an experienced team of mentors, and contribute to the growth of a dynamic, rapidly-scaling wholesale (B2B) business backed by one of the oldest and largest industry leaders in our field.
Responsibilities
- Serve as externally facing sales contact, deepening our relationships with key accounts and continually refining our individualized assortment strategy with each partner. Assist with sales channel growth by supporting materials for new customer acquisition and new account setups.
- Be a key contributor to the development of our emerging brand, Terra, and the growth of our product offering, participating in competitive research and helping identify seasonal trends and gaps for development. Support research and road mapping as we explore growth across home furnishings categories.
- Manage day-to-day e-commerce product operations, including product setup and maintenance across all sales channels. Build (or oversee building of) products on partner portal sites using templates and manual entry as required. Audit (or manage auditing of) existing listings across channels to ensure content and customer experience is regularly optimized and continually improved.
- Work with overseas internal teams to obtain, refine, and store product data in internal PIM system, and develop processes to continually audit / optimize content.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to launch strategic site promotions (sales) and manage advertising campaigns on marketplace accounts.
- Monitor sales and advertising performance across accounts to identify opportunities for improvement and make growth recommendations.
- Support sales and marketing team with photoshoot, tradeshow, and special event prep including participating in showroom design, selecting brand merch, photoshoot sample distribution, etc.
- Support Operations team with ad hoc troubleshooting select accounts as needed
- Periodic (~2X quarterly) travel to trade shows and customer visits will be required
- Role is based in Eastern Time Zone hours, 8AM-5PM, with the expectation of availability throughout the day
Qualifications
- 2-5 years of experience in e-commerce buying, sales, operations, digital marketing, or related role
- Strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel (using basic commands like pivot tables, Vlookups, etc.)
- Excellent communication, able to collaborate effectively and professionally with both internal teams and external customers
- Highly organized individual with airtight task management strategies and ability to independently prioritize a to-do list based on broad company goals
- Self-motivated, eager to succeed and grow in role, and able to use self-service training tools as a part of onboarding
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to drive decision-making
- Proficiency in e-commerce B2B marketplace platforms including Wayfair, Amazon (3p), Target. Experience with Shopify is a plus
- Experience with PIM Systems is a plus
- Experience or interest in the Home Furnishings sector preferred
- A passion for e-commerce and a desire to stay ahead in the industry
What We Offer:
- Salary range ~$75k-$90k, dependent on experience
- Remote flexible, option to work in our offices in the heart of New York City or elsewhere in the continental US (with periodic, regular travel to tradeshows and live meetings required). Standard working hours of 8AM-5PM EST.
