Our DoD/Aerospace client is looking to fill a Configuration Management Database Architect /Administrator position that has just opened in Scottsdale, AZ (Hybrid). In this role, you will design, implement, and manage the ServiceNow CMDB supporting Space Force programs. You will ensure accurate configuration data, enforce governance policies, maintain service maps, and collaborate with infrastructure, security, and application teams. To be considered, you must have a Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering or related STEM field (or equivalent experience), 3+ years of CMDB administration experience, and an active Secret clearance. U.S. citizenship is required.
Location: Scottsdale, AZ (Hybrid)
Position: CMDB Architect / Administrator (Contract)
Contract: 12 – 24 months with possibility of going direct
Pay: $73.51 per hour
Shift: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement the CMDB data model, including configuration item (CI) classes, attributes, and relationships
- Establish and enforce CMDB data governance policies, quality standards, reconciliation rules, and validation procedures
- Collect asset and configuration data from infrastructure teams, asset inventories, and technical documentation across multiple secured enclaves
- Manually create, update, and maintain configuration items (CIs) within ServiceNow, including:
- Servers
- Network devices
- Applications
- Databases
- Validate asset and CI data accuracy by cross-referencing multiple data sources and conducting verification sessions with subject matter experts (SMEs)
- Build and maintain service maps and dependency views for mission-critical business and operational services
- Develop integration strategies for external asset repositories and approved third-party data sources
- Support Change Management, Incident Management, and Problem Management processes by ensuring accurate and reliable CI data
- Train system users and stakeholders on CMDB navigation, CI relationships, and data maintenance best practices
- Create and maintain documentation for data collection procedures, CI field definitions, and validation standards
- Generate CMDB health, completeness, and accuracy metrics and reports for leadership and stakeholders
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering or a related Science, Engineering, Technology, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline
- OR 5+ years of relevant job-related experience
- OR Master’s degree plus 3+ years of job-related experience
- Agile experience preferred
- 3+ years of hands-on CMDB design and administration experience
- Strong understanding of IT asset management and configuration management principles
- Experience with data modeling, entity-relationship design, and data quality management
- Working knowledge of ITIL Configuration Management and asset lifecycle processes
- Ability to collaborate effectively with infrastructure, security, and application teams
- Active security clearance or ability to re-qualify immediately
Preferred Certifications
- ServiceNow CMDB certification (CIS-CMDB or CIS-SAM) strongly preferred
Clearance Requirements
- Active Department of Defense Secret security clearance required at time of hire
- Applicants may be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
- U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of classified work performed
Workplace Options
- Minimum of three days on-site per week, with the option for full-time on-site
- On-site work will be performed with the SDA team in Scottsdale, Arizona
Work Schedule and Benefits
- Flexible work schedules with the option for a 9/80 schedule (every other Friday off), if desired
