President and Chief Executive Officer
We are conducting a retained search for a President and Chief Executive Officer for a $400 million WV community bank. This is a tremendous opportunity for someone to build upon the bank’s successes to date and build a strong diversified community bank. This bank is looking for a banker with strategic leadership experience that can anticipate future trends, communicate a compelling and inspired vision, and lead the bank in making that vision a reality.
Essential Functions:
The bank’s mission of providing financial services and products to families, small businesses and the agricultural community has served both their customers and the bank well over the years. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the President & CEO will direct and oversee all strategic, credit, financial, and operational activities of the bank including analyzing effects of long-term growth initiatives, developing, and implementing the organization’s operational and fiscal function and performance.
- Interact regularly with the Board of Directors to formulate, implement, monitor, and report the bank’s strategic results, and policies.
- Oversee and maintain the framework and processes to develop and communicate the bank’s long-term strategic direction.
- Lead the bank’s strategy setting and related activities that advance the Bank’s strategic objectives.
- Represent the Bank both internally and externally, develop and maintain relationships with major clients and regulators, and with the Senior Executive Team comprised of the Bank’s most senior executives, supporting a positive profile for the Bank.
- Build a sound infrastructure to achieve a strategic balance of risk and return.
- Establish and maintain a framework and processes to assess the impact of mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions for the Bank.
- Oversee the effectiveness of the Bank’s financial structure and monitor and advise the Chairman on the Bank’s present and future capital requirements.
- Oversee the proactive identification, management, and mitigation of the various risks of the Bank, both current and emerging, all in a manner consistent with Bank objectives.
- Ensure that the Bank is positioned to evolve as an integrated, customer-focused financial institution in alignment with the Bank’s stated business strategies.
- Coordinate the Senior Executive Team to meet on a regular basis to discuss matters relating to the overall strategic management of the Bank.
- Establish accountability with regard to satisfactorily meeting approved plans
- Oversee and supports the ongoing development of a diverse, capable, engaged workforce, and an extraordinary workplace that provides the capacity and capability to execute against its business strategy.
- Oversee all required regulatory reporting to ensure bank compliance.

Here is what our client requires:
- Minimum of 15 years of community bank management experience with broad banking exposure
- Minimum of five years in a senior leadership role in a community bank
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or business administration
