Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc. (MEPPI) is seeking an Engineering Intern to support our Engineering Services Support team within the Service Center Division (SCD). This role is ideal for students interested in power systems, engineering data management, and service-oriented technical operations.
This internship offers hands-on exposure to engineering support processes that directly impact field service execution, parts strategy, and lifecycle management for critical power equipment including UPS and battery systems.
What You’ll Work On
As an Engineering Intern, you will contribute to high-impact, business-critical initiatives including:
Data Integrity & Auditing
- Audit existing parts databases to ensure technical specifications for UPS and battery components are accurate and consistently formatted.
- Identify discrepancies and support data cleanup initiatives.
Strategic Categorization
- Assist in classifying components into “Critical,” “Common,” and “Obsolete” tiers as part of the SCD Parts Strategy rollout.
- Support lifecycle tracking and service readiness efforts.
Vendor Documentation Management
- Partner with technical leads to collect, organize, and validate supplier documentation, including specification sheets and lead-time data.
- Improve accessibility and standardization of vendor information.
Process Optimization
- Document the workflow for parts identification and engineering support activities.
- Assist in developing a formal Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the Engineering Support Services team.
Inventory Mapping
- Cross-reference internal part numbers with manufacturer numbers to reduce redundancy and improve procurement efficiency.
- Support data-driven decisions that enhance service response times.

Basic Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an ABET-accredited Bachelor’s program in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (Junior or Senior standing preferred)
- GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic understanding of power systems, circuit theory, or power electronics
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar design software
- Interest in the power and manufacturing industry
- Prior internship experience
