JOB TITLE: Engineer II - Cryogenic Wiring
Key Responsibilities
Product Development
- Define material selection for cryogenic wiring, including conductors, dielectrics, shielding, and thermal interface materials based on customer specifications.
- Develop and optimize processes for cable fabrication, connectorization, bonding, soldering, crimping, and thermal anchoring for each project.
- Evaluate material compatibility at cryogenic temperatures (thermal contraction, conductivity, mechanical stability)
Production Support
o Participate in of final products for timely completion of projects.
o Develop firsthand knowledge of how systems
o Participate in and offer creative solutions.
- Transition materials and fabrication methods from prototype to production-ready workflows
- Standardize, improve, and document manufacturing processes
- Implement process control methodologies (“Build Sheets”) to ensure repeatability and yield between projects.
- Drive cost reduction and labor reduction improvement through material and process optimization
- Lead root-cause investigations related to material failures, degradation, or process variability
Technical Collaboration
- Partner with our mechanical design team to align material choices with system-level performance requirements
- Automate Testing process and implement and/or improve electronic hardware within our test lab to capture data and perform the automated test process.
- Contribute to next-generation cryogenic wiring and interconnect architecture, including finding new vendors, sources, and materials.
- Provide technical guidance to technicians, engineers, and customer support on materials handling and best practice approaches.
o Operate with minimum supervision and show dedication and care to achieve company goals.
Education and Qualification:
· Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Engineering Physics, or related field
· Experience in the fields involving: Cryogenics, Vacuum technology, Material Science, Thermodynamics, Heat and Mass Transfer, Mechanical Design, +3 yrs Experience in Electrical Circuit Design.
· 3 to 6 years of work experience in industry related to Cryogenics, Vacuum Technology, Physics or related fields.
§ Understanding of thermal expansion, conductivity, surface treatments, and joining methods for low-temperature applications
· Proficient computer skills, i.e., Microsoft, C++ (or equivalent), Matlab, 3D Solidworks, Auto Cad, 3D Solidworks Electrical, Auto Cad Electrical (or equivalents), Phyton
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
