Responsibilities:
*Design residential and small commercial landscapes to meet the expressed needs of clients and to the necessary specifications for installation crew in a CAD-like form. The more programming skills one is familiar with, the better. The ideal designer would be familiar with SketchUp and any other form of 3-D modeling.
*Perform a preliminary site visit to speak with the client and take accurate measurements.
*Perform ongoing communication with the client while the design is in progress to ensure that the design is in line with the client's budget and their tastes
*Observe and make project-enhancing ideas known to the client during the consultation.
* Create a landscape design, rough draft of estimate, and/or material take off.
*Visit site before, during, and after installation.
*Order plants and material from vendors for pickup and delivery.
*Deliver plants and materials to job site
*Set out plants on site for installation, and at times aid crew with the installation of the plants.
*Approve hardscape and softscape layout work performed by landscape foreman
Required Work Experience:
*2 years of professional residential landscape design.
Skills:
*Highly effective communicator, visually, verbally and electronically.
*CAD, and other design-based software proficiency.
*Adobe Photoshop or other form of imaging software
*Able to multitask and problem-solve.
*Works well with others
Education:
*High School Diploma
*Formal Training in landscape design
*Bachelor's degree (preferred but not required)
