Position Summary
The Manufacturing Operations Analyst is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of manufacturing sales jobs prior to release to production. This role serves as a key quality and process checkpoint by validating Bills of Material (BOM), Bills of Operations (BOO), drawings, and estimated labor times. This role partners closely with Planning, Manufacturing Leadership, and Engineering to support production efficiency, improve operational metrics, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.
Position Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer will support operations and continuous improvement initiatives. This role focuses on supporting day-to-day manufacturing activities, resolving production issues, and identifying opportunities to improve manufacturing processes, quality, and efficiency. The role will work closely with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to ensure orders move efficiently through production while maintaining Solarcraft’s standards for safety, performance, and product quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day engineering support for orders currently in production, assisting with issue resolution and technical clarification as needed.
- Serve as a liaison between Engineering and Production to identify, evaluate, and resolve manufacturing issues affecting production schedules or product quality.
- Investigate production issues to determine root causes and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Support and execute manufacturing process improvement initiatives focused on increasing efficiency, quality, and throughput.
- Assist in the implementation of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement practices to enhance production performance.
- Review mechanical and electrical drawings to ensure manufacturing accuracy and identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Production, and Quality to support operational goals and project priorities.
- Manage multiple improvement projects with varying timelines, including short-term production support initiatives and longer-term process optimization efforts.
- May perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- 0–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control principles, and workplace safety practices.
- Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and develop practical solutions.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively both independently and within a team environment.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite.
- Experience with SQL or basic data analysis tools preferred.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as Epicor or similar manufacturing systems preferred.
Work Environment And Physical Requirements
- Regular movement between office and production floor is required
- Ability to stoop, reach, stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time
- Ability to push, pull, and lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds
