Overview:
Signalink is seeking a System Safety Engineer/Analyst to support the SHIELD Project Office. The candidate will directly work with SHIELD Directors and Product Managers to ensure system safety through rigorous engineering methods and technical expertise. Candidates will support multidisciplinary Integrated Product Teams to develop solutions that support developmental, test, and operational goals. An engineer/analyst in this position is expected to be self-motivated, possessing strong written and verbal communications skills, and support or lead the following events/items including:
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Support system safety engineering activities across all phases of missile system development, integration, test, production,, and fielding.
- Perform and document hazard analyses including Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA).
- Ensure compliance with MIL-STD-882E and other applicable DoD and Army safety standards.
- Develop and maintain Safety Assessment Reports (SARs), Safety Verification Plans, and Risk Acceptance documentation.
- Collaborate with design, test, and integration teams to embed safety requirements into system architecture and operational concepts.
- Support Safety Release processes for test events, including live-fire and flight testing.
- Interface with Army safety boards, review panels, and Joint Weapon Safety Working Groups.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective action planning for safety-related incidents or anomalies.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree
- Currently hold an active DoD security clearance at the secret level OR ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
