Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Financial Analyst to support the financial operations of a diverse real estate portfolio, including residential, commercial, and mixed-use assets across multiple markets. This role will also assist with private investment reporting and analysis. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting, reporting, and real estate financial management experience.
Portfolio: Residential, Commercial, and Mixed-Use Properties (Manhattan, Long Island, Connecticut, and other regions) + Private Investments
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Accounting
- Prepare monthly financial statements for multiple entities and properties
- Complete monthly bank reconciliations across various accounts
- Record journal entries and adjusting entries in accordance with GAAP
- Maintain and reconcile general ledgers
Accounts Payable & Cash Management
- Review and approve invoices for accuracy and proper coding
- Coordinate and process real estate tax payments and other property-related expenses
- Monitor cash balances and assist with cash flow tracking
Budgeting & Analysis
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets for properties and investments
- Prepare quarterly variance reports (budget vs. actual) with explanations
- Support financial analysis related to property performance and investment returns
Compliance & Filings
- Prepare and file RPIEs (Real Property Income & Expense statements) for NYC properties
- Assist with TC201 filings and other property-related tax forms
- Compile and provide financial reporting packages to lenders/banks
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and lender reporting requirements
Investment & Portfolio Support
- Assist in tracking and reporting on private investments
- Support ad hoc analysis for acquisitions, dispositions, and refinancing activities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 1-2+ years of experience in real estate accounting or financial analysis
- Strong understanding of real estate financials and property-level reporting
- Familiarity with NYC real estate reporting (RPIE, property taxes, etc.) is a plus
- Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling)
- Experience with Yardi accounting software preferred
Salary & Benefits
- Base Salary: $85,000 – $105,000 (commensurate with experience)
