Position Summary
United Sports & Entertainment is seeking a Houston-based Marketing and Communications Manager to support our work in the sports and entertainment industry. This role will lead the strategy and execution of digital marketing campaigns across multiple platforms, including, but not limited to, social media, content development, email marketing, and digital advertising. This position will focus on the day-to-day execution and long-term growth of USE’s visibility through compelling storytelling and data-driven strategies.
Principal Duties / Responsibilities
- Strategize, Schedule, and Execute all social media efforts for USE-related platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube, LinkedIn, Threads, TikTok)
- Organize and track social media analytics to report results on specific pieces of content
- Continually monitor, engage, message, and respond to audience questions, comments, complaints, and other customer requests across social and email platforms
- Budget, create, manage, and monitor content calendars, social media marketing projects, and paid advertising campaigns
- Research and stay up-to-date with trends and best practices on digital platforms and adjust USE platforms accordingly
- Collaborate with designers to consistently update official USE-related websites
- Track website analytics and identify strategies for improvement
- Implement and maintain a content organization system for all USE and client events
- Create video and photo content for USE-related digital platforms.
- Optimize copy for digital engagement and SEO
- Follow current sports and entertainment events and news for effective marketing planning
- Collaborate with internal team and partners to develop messaging and roll-outs for company initiatives, including product launches, announcements, and campaigns
- Lead development and implementation regarding channel and content strategies across all platforms for editorials, articles, podcasts, and blogs
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Must reside in the Greater Houston Area
- Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Sports Management, or a similar relevant field; experience may substitute for education
- 1-2 years of experience in the sports marketing and communications space
- Knowledge and working understanding of all social media platforms
- Proven track record of writing and creating engaging and persuasive social media content with a broad range of social media strategies and tools
- Data-driven approach and proficiency in social metrics
- Ad strategy, paid digital advertising, and SEO experience
- Ability to create video content and other creative elements quickly
- Working knowledge of graphic design platforms (Photoshop, Canva, InDesign, and/or Illustrator) and video production experience
- Strategic mindset to achieve organizational goals, seek new opportunities, and proactively solve problems
- Strong time management, organizational, and work planning skills
- Ability to work with tight deadlines and shifting priorities due to the ever-changing demands of the sports and entertainment industry
- Familiarity with and passion for the sports and entertainment industry
- Comfort working in a hybrid environment
- Strong customer service attitude
- Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills
- Any press, media outlet, or on-camera speaking experience is a plus
- Any extensive video editing, graphic design, or website design experience is a plus
