Why does the job exist?
As an IT Project Manager within the Department of Information Technology, this position will work closely with leadership consulting and designing automated processes utilized throughout the agency.
This position will provide capability building for best practices for relating to the migration of legacy processes to the State's current and emerging digital platforms.
How does it get done?
This position will do the following:
- Partner with executive program support partners and other DoIT leadership to identify current business processes to be revised/updated
- Educate DoIT stakeholders on migrated strategies and work processes
- Develop processes and programs to automate tracking of existing legacy processes
- Ensure compliance with agency project reporting requirements
- Cluster existing reports for analysis and business case justification for implementation
- Track and communicate project status, risk and emergent issues that are readily accessible and current
- Ensure shared understanding of project goals and success criteria across the entirety of project team
- Promote a free flow of information with and among partners and team members on all matters, maintain comprehensive project documentation, including file management and structure
- Maintain records, prepare reports, and compose correspondence relative to project needs to be kept in projects files for creating and maintaining institutional knowledge for projects related to agency infrastructure.
- Initiate and maintain recurring projects including union compliance, federal law compliance and agency policy compliance
- Manage agency wide projects related to DFA and SPO generated work streams

Minimum Qualification
Associate Degree in Computer Science or similar technical major and four (4) years of experience in software development or systems analysis. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling six (6) years may substitute for the required education and experience. CAPM certification may be substituted for one (1) year of experience.
Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain current ID or Driver's License. Pre-employment background investigation is required, and employment is conditional pending results.
Working Conditions
Office setting, exposure to Visual/Video Display terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and telephone usage with extended periods of sitting.
