Salary/Hourly Rate: $35/hr - $45/hr
Position Overview: As Accounting Manager, you'll be the backbone of the financial operations. From managing general ledger activities to preparing bank reconciliations and supporting audits, your work will ensure smooth financial processes and compliance. You will collaborate closely with leadership to support strategic initiatives while maintaining accuracy and transparency. This is a 9-month contract role with the potential for permanent hire.
Responsibilities of the Accounting Manager:
- Manage month-end close processes and ensure timely, accurate reporting.
- Oversee general ledger, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Prepare and review bank reconciliations, ensuring accuracy.
- Monitor grant accounting and compliance, supporting reporting requirements.
- Assist with year-end audits and prepare necessary schedules and documentation.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Handle ad hoc financial projects and provide analysis for leadership decisions.
Required Experience/Skills for the Accounting Manager:
- 3 - 7 years of accounting or finance experience, preferably in a nonprofit environment.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks, Excel, and financial software such as Financial Edge or FundEZ.
- Strong knowledge of general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
- Self-starter who thrives in a hybrid, fast-paced environment.
- Preferred Experience/Skills for the Accounting Manager:
- Nonprofit accounting experience.
- Familiarity with fund accounting and grant compliance.
- Experience supporting year-end audits.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- A CPA or an advanced degree is preferred.
